Julie Christie, Greta Garbo, Catherine Denueve, Audrey Hepburn, and Sophia Loren were and are still the most beautiful and talented actresses the film industry ever produced... I most sincerly wish her all the best in the years to come, and come Oscar time, I feel the voters will reward her yet again - her performances are always enchanting, her persona remains - pardon the pun - simply "Darling!"
If I may, I'd like to remind those who visit this site to make a concerted effort to see one of her most splendid performances - and one of the most painfully overlooked - in Thomas Hardy's "Far From the Madding Crowd." It remains a stunning achievement in film making and storytelling - hauntedly moving from the first scene to the last - it's nothing less than a textbook example of fine cinematography, acting and direction for aspiring film makers; and a singular achievement in "unrequited love," continuity, and narrative for those out there who wish to write screenplays of their own. Simply put - one you'll never forget - very much like Ms. Christie herself! Bravo, my dear... and remember, I'm always good for lunch - or to help with those tulips in the garden... Yours forever,
                          Antonio

Dear Jen, yay, you made it! I couldn't have said it better. The photo is just wonderful and she looks gorgeous and so come-hither. Oooh, I have not heard anyone mention Don't Look Now for some time. What a masterful movie of tension and atmosphere. The way Venice was captured was fantastic--foreboding yet dripping with captivating beauty. The Wings of the Dove was kind of similar in the way Venice was captured, but not nearly as well done. They really made an attractive couple, too. Now you made me want to see it again!

D-
This is a beautiful photo. This coud be taken out of a 2005 Vogue. I love everything--the couch, the outift, the great mules (my heart will break if these are houseshoes), and the earrings. She is breathtaking. Have you seen Don't Look Now? It has to be my favorite Julie Christie movie. Takes place in Venice--so beautiful, so haunting. Not to mention a raunchy, euro sex scene with Donald Sutherland that creeps me out a little.
Thanks for posting such a lovely photo.
