Yowza! not one, but two great pics of wavishing Kay Fwancis! I have a brief bio of her in one of my books. She seems to have been a good person, a kind and loyal friend, but she made a lot of bad career decisions. In her final years she wound up a terrible drunk and her movies are largely forgotten. I do love "Trouble in Paradise," though, and since you like William Powell, if you haven't caught "One-Way Passage" you should. It is a four-hankie romantic melodrama as good in its way as "Back Street." And The House on 52nd St. is supposed to be good, though I never saw it.

Dear S, what a pleasure to see you post here as well. Welcome!
I remember that makeover by Aucoin. In fact, I kept running into that image when I was looking for photos. As for the halter, thanks, sweetie. I think we all need to have that halter made; goodness knows, it would look perfect on all of us.

Dear K, your profile pic is legendary. I have admired it for some time now. The expression on your face is priceless!
About the Faye pic, I totally agree--she looks amazing there. I thought about using a couple of other less circulated photos, but they are black and whites and I just love how her make-up looks, as well as the color of the sweater and so forth. A perfect outfit, in my book. Faye has seriously never looked better. Just look at her cheekbones in that shot.
There are so many wonderful photos of Kay, including many with our beloved William Powell.

I love Faye's makeup in that photo so much: I do my own adaption of it which you can see in my blogger profile pic. Except I went for bolder brighter lips, of course. I think Faye is the only one who can carry off a beret with that much style. I love that Kay Francis photo you found - it's so posed and perfect it could easily be a painting.
